Biography

Dr Rajan Sharma started his medical career in 1993, with M.B.,B.S from Medical College, Amritsar. During the entire course of MBBS he was among the top 10 students of his class. He completed his Specialisation in M.S (General Surgery) in 2004 from JN Medical College, Belgaum and was ranked 4 th in the entire Karnataka state in the MS exam. Following that he joined Super-specialization in Urology in the world famous Muljibhai Patel Urological hospital, Nadiad, Gujarat in 2006, which is among the top 20 urology departments of the world. Here he was trained in the most advanced Urological Surgeries including Renal transplant surgery. He joined as a consultant in Nadiad following completion of his degree and was involved in almost 400 Renal transplant surgeries.

Dr Rajan Sharma successfully established his practice in Urology in the Tricity in 2011. He has successfully operated and treated patients with the entire spectrum of diseases in Urology. He has special interest in Endourology, Laparoscopic Urology Surgeries, reconstructive urology, Pediatric urology, Andrology, female urology and Renal transplant surgery. He has the know-how and skills for doing the most advanced and latest procedures in Urology namely Mini-PCNL, Micro-PCNL, RIRS, Laparoscopic urology surgeries, Vapoenucleation.

Academically, he is regularly invited as faculty member in most of the zonal and national urological conferences being held in our country to deliver talks, as a panelist and as chairperson. He has presented papers/videos in various national and zonal conferences and has won various awards in those paper presentations also.

He has to his credit 12 publictaions in various International and national Urology Journals He was an active member of a team with German researchers in developing a technique called “Micro-PCNL” which has been published as an original article in the American Journal of Urology.

He has successfully mentored many junior urologists and they are successfully practicing independently now.
